Situated only 2 hours drive from Johannesburg, lies Pilanesberg National Park. Diverse eco types make a beautiful home to the Big 5, 30 other species of large African mammals and more than 300 bird species.

Nestled in the North West province, the Pilanesberg national park is situated on the eroded remains of an extinct alkaline volcanic crater – one of only three in the world. The area was proclaimed as a national park in 1979, covering an area of 55 000ha. One of the most advantageous aspects of the Pilanesberg is that it is situated in a malaria-free belt.

Accommodation is in comfortable en-suite chalets, with private veranda, television, coffee and tea station and Mini fridge.

The lodge has a small refreshment shop, 2 swimming pools and well stocked bar for those who want to enjoy a relaxing drink after a super day of game viewing.

Itinerary

Day 1:
Depart Johannesburg taking a scenic drive though the Magaliesberg mountains and past Hartebeespoort dam. After a short drive we arrive at the Pilanesberg National park for our 1st game drive. The morning is spent driving around the 55 000ha nature reserve, before checking into our en-suite accommodation at one of the lodges situated inside the game reserve.

Lunch is enjoyed on your own account at the lodge canteen before embarking on your 1st open 4x4 vehicle sunset safari drive.

You return to the lodge at dusk and enjoy a well deserved true African dinner at the lodge restaurant.

Day 2:
An early morning wake-up call from your guide as the sun is rising and depart on another open 4x4 vehicle game drive, looking for the animals that have eluded us on our other game drives.

We return to the lodge for a full English breakfast, the rest of the morning and early afternoon is spent relaxing at the swimming pool, in your room or an optional visit to Sun City, hotel and casino. 

Entrance fees into Sun City are on your own account.

In the late evening you depart on sunset game drive, returning to the lodge in the late evening in time for yet another African dinner.

Day 3:
We do a last early morning open 4x4 vehicle game drive before breakfast and departing the lodge back to Johannesburg after a well deserved relaxing safari adventure in South Africa.
